Our Wagyu Beef Story

Nestled in the hills of Snowdonia, many Welsh farmers produce the UK’s best prime lamb and beef. Here in Caernarfon, our farm has a major point of difference from the rest: we breed Wagyu.

We care passionately for both welfare, environment and farming sustainably with low input is important to us.

Our Mixed farm use ruminants to turn grass into food and improve soil structure. This helps us cut artificial fertilizer use, help build nutrient levels in the soil and maximize local food production while farming sustainably.

* What we mean by *low input:

  • We practice minimum tillage preferring to “stitch in” grass seed where possible

  • Suckler herd (we breed our own Wagyu calves rather than buy in)

  • The animals are 80% grass fed from our permanent pasture. The soil is not good enough to grow anything else. We also feed them herbal leys, which improve the soil and fix nitrogen.

  • 20% fed bi-products of human food production - a sustainable source of energy (Brewers grain)

  • Cattle move around the farm in a paddock to eat grass. As they go, they trample the grass and fertilize the soil. This encourages the best grass production and carbon capture.

  • Our farmyard manure composts over the summer. Then, we spread it on the soil to reduce artificial inputs.

  • We work with a local abattoir, local butcher and supply local customers
